Who Are We For?

Ultimately, Play Therapy Africa is established for promoting human rights and wellbeing of children, youth and women. Yet, whenever possible, we don't provide direct service delivery to vulnerable populations, but through supporting the safe practice and evolving competencies of professionals and association's members. When in the areas of intervention no practitioner is available or sufficiently trained, then the asoociation deploys temporary ad hoc expertises to bridge identified gaps.

Practitioner Membership is open, at various levels, to ALL those working therapeutically with children AND  those who have an interest in the subject:

We differ from other professional institutions supporting therapeutic work with children because we don't require from our practitioners a degree or advanced certificate in psychology or child development. We believe in experience and commitment. This is why our trainings are 75% experiencial, and only 25% theoretical. While theoretical basis are provided during the courses, the focus of our trainings is really on 'how to do it' and 'why'.
